What reminded you of XF today... ?

Its become awfully quiet in here. I know its the holidays and all, but..

I bet there are endless lists of things we connect with the X-Files. Liiike..neon green, sunflower seeds, implants in the neck,Cerulean Blue , auburn hair etc. .
So on daily bases we associate things with our favorite TV Show.

I thought of X-Files a few times today...

I looked at the clock on my computer at 10:13 am this morning ^_^

When I went to best buy for gift shopping I thought of buying more IWTB dvd's for gifts, but realized I had nobody left to give them to and not enough money anyway XD

When I went to the movie theater in my town to get a gift certificate, I remembered going there with a bunch of Philes to see IWTB (again) when I held the Bay Area Phile gathering~

When I was looking at hair dye and picked out in my mind which ones were "Scully" reds.

Also, my tattoo of course!!!

The snow today!!!!!! Totally reminded me of standing/huddling as the case may be, watching them film.

One of the ornaments fell from my tree, and it was the a cresent moon shaped one. As I was hanging it back on the tree, I had a flash of the wooden moon that Scully had hanging on the knob of the door of a wardrobe she had in her apartment. I wonder if one can still find those wooden moons.

Okay... what reminded me today? Don´t know... was a hint of ... love and relationship. My sister is going to marry today. Hey, it´s new years eve... so of course I thought of Millenium. That´s it. Millenium and love. After 12 years they finally are going to be husband and wife. Well well... we still are waiting for that final step. But as you always wish for something the new year we might wish for a 2012 movie - there´s still some time for marriage.
Then... *lol* I was trying different hairstyles for the wedding. The last one was *pooooo* like Scully having her date in the Jersey´s devil ^^
And quite this moment I´m watching "Autopsie" with Scullys German voice ;)
That´s it by now.

What reminded me of XF?

Seeing the husband of one of my patients who looked like a clean shaven Frohike. Kid you not - right down to the leather vest and fingerless gloves. It was uncanny.'


And glancing at my watch and seeing it was 10:13 of course.

I visted the new apartment of a dear friend yesterday evening/night I havnt seen for 3 months or so. We talked about uni life, which started this year for us (in 2 different cities).

Pink Floyd was playing on her computer and she told me how she liked the lyrics of "Time".

"And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death"

She thought that people just do things without thinking too much about it. They run and run and are keep themselves busy

I started tellin her the story of Gillian´s "All Things" episode and recited first:

"SCULLY: Look, we're always running. We're always chasing the next big
thing. Why don't you ever just stay still?
MULDER: I wouldn't know what I'd be missing."

and then the complete intro:

"SCULLY: Time passes in moments ... moments which, rushing

Also I saw a child with a pullover on that said "Expect the unexpected" on it. There were also beetles on it.
SO I thought it was rather x-ish

2Day is New Years Eve so .....I can think only about Millennium epi and THE KISS !!!!

Strangely, being an odd duck, I'm always feeling somewhat alien everywhere I go.

So, with aliens on the brain, there is this rather pervasive X related typology within my daily life. Sometimes, just clicking away at the computer, reading Jung and mythology, saying that Benedryl has a soporiphic affect, especially when combined with alcohol, whilst in casual conversation at a new year's party, I'm reminded of it, again.

But, with pride I do feel these associations soothing, that there is something to vindicate little ol' me, no matter how I feel so segregated on my own little island of existence.

It's not just me; I'm not completely departed from this magnificent world, though I often feel lonesome, because I have yet to find that counterpart, protector and endangerer, that may not make this all so isolated a term for me.

Maybe I'm different, not really flashing so spontaneously on an episode per se, but on ideas, philosophic feels. The mirror holds as much re-emergence of these feelings, moments, and tidings as does the marks of 10:13, 11:21 and 9:25. Our numerical data, idiosynchratic, but one wonders at the synchronicity of it all. What is talking to us via these entertaining means? Are we listening?

And, since the am is so early as it is, my spelling does not work as usual, nor do I care as long as I am understood.

All the moments combine, and I am happy with the promise it tells me.

I think The X-Files has always been good to minorities in the show. And I dont mean the Lone Gunmen ^^, lol.
I always feel I need to protect minorities.
Maybe X-Files had something to do with that too. Well, maybe that ideal of mine was developed earlier.
But when I watched the show I felt that "it was the right thing to do." And that was very good.

Lets take Mulder. He believed almost everyone, no matter how crazy the general public thought that person was.
Mulder himself is the best example.
He was called "spooky" but Scully saw the good in him. I might refer to Duchovny´s "human credential" again =) . I love that part of X-Files.

There is a saying..I think it goes

"Ein Wahnsinniger ist eine Minderheit, die aus nur einer Person besteht."
"A maniac is a minority, that consist of only one person." ( I think Friedrich Duerrenmatt said that?)


So there is a "daily" carrying out of that part of XF-philanthropy/humanism there.

I think it is very important. Because Scully could have just listened to what everyone else was saying. Surely she would have climbed the career ladder.
But even if there is no "profit" or benefit in protecting a minority (especially if it is just one person)...
it is "the right thing to do."

Spent New Years Eve at the Chapel Arts Center, an old XF location in Vancouver. It's creepy, and fabulous and the only room in the world that can give flashbacks to "Irresistible" while waltzing with an old friend. Love it.
